What is Dys(autonomia)?

Dysautonomia (pronounced dys-oughta-know-me-uh) is a category of diagnoses involving the autonomic nervous system. Rather than a diagnosis itself, it includes many diagnoses such as: 

• orthostatic hypotension

• postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS)

• inappropriate sinus tachycardia

• neurocardiogenic syncope or neurally mediated syncope
